Worst Quarterbacks to Ever Win The Superbowl (In my opinion)

11. Mark Rypien- 1991 Washington Redskins

Mark Rypien's career started off really well and was in the race for MVP in 1991 and won Superbowl MVP but he is on this list because after the Superbowl his career started to get worse and worse until he retired. Rypien and the Redskins won this game 37-20 over the Buffalo Bills but he couldn't keep winning and that is why he is on this list.

10. Nick Foles- 2017 Philidelphia Eagles

Nick Foles was the backup QB to the dominant Carson Wentz. Wentz got hurt and was out for the season so Foles came in and led The Eagles to the Superbowl in a Cinderella story run. Foles and The Eagles defeated the Patriots 41-33.

9. Joe Flacco- 2012 Baltimore Ravens

Joe Flacco played for many different teams but when he was in his prime he won a Superbowl against the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners were the favorites and like Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco was also carried by Ray Lewis and The defense. The defense also contained Ed Reed. The Niners star player was Hall of Fame wide reciver Randy Moss. The Niners were 4 point favorites but that didn't stop the Ravens from winning 34-31.

8. Tom Brady- 2001 New England Patriots

Tom Brady is known as the GOAT but before he was the GOAT he was a backup for The Patriots and he was behind Drew Bledsoe. During a regular season game against The New York Jets Bledsoe tore his rib cage and had to leave the game and eventually out for the season. Tom Brady came in to play for Bledsoe for the rest of the season. Brady took the Patriots to the super bowl to face the St. Louis Rams. The game was tight but then the Patriots had the last drive and Brady led them down into field goal range setitng up Adam Viniteri to kick the game winning field goal and giving the Patriots their first Superbowl win with a score of 20-17.

7. Eli Manning- 2011 New York Giants

Eli Manning was a great Quarterback in his Prime but he performed bad in the regular season enetering the playoffs with 9 wins and 7 losses. The Giants snuck into the playoffs and had some lucky wins over some superior teams. The Giants got to the Superbowl and played The Patriots in a game that game down to the last play with the Giants winning 21-17. There's not much to say but Eli definitley got carried by the defense.

6. Joe Nammath- 1968 New York Jets

Joe Nammath was the Superbowl MVP of Superbowl III but that was really all he ever did. Nammath's win at Superbowl III was impressive but after that game he was never the same and his career got worse as it went on. Nammath didn't really have any highlights in his career except this game which got him to the Hall of Fame. What made this game so signifigant was that the Jets pulled off the biggest upset of all time by being 18 point underdogs against the Baltimore Colts. I think Nammath was overated but the win was still impressive.

5. Peyton Manning- 2015 Denver Broncos

Peyton Manning is one of the greatest Quarterbacks of all time but in the 2015 season he was not as good. Manning was old and past his prime. The Broncos had a strong team with star players like Demarcus Ware, Von Miller, Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryus Thomas and many more. The Broncos had a solid season and went to the Superbowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers entered this game with 15 wins and 1 loss. The Broncos won this game 24-10 and the MVP was Von Miller.

4. Doug Williams- 1987 Washington Redskins

Doug Williams was the first black player to appear in The Superbowl. Williams had a great run in the playoffs and I respect his accomplishments. Williams made it to the Superbowl against John Elway and The Denver Broncos. The Broncos had a really strong season and were 3 point favorites. The Redskin s shocked the world and beat the Broncos 42-10.

3. Jeff Hosteller- 1990 New York Giants

The Giants starting Quarterback Phil Sims got injured and was put out for the rest of the season putting Jeff Hosteller in postion to play the last 2 games. Hosteller got the Giants to the Superbowl where they faced the Buffalo Bills. The Giants and Bills went back and fourth but Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly got the Bills down into field goal range but the Bills kicker Scott Norwood missed the 47 yard field goal and the Giants won.

2. Brad Johnson- 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Brad Johnson played for many teams including The Buccaneers where he won the Superbowl. The Buccaneers were the number 1 seed in the NFC with a record of 12 and 4. The Buccaneers blew out all of their opponents in the playoffs and went on to Beat the Oakland Raiders 48-22. The Bucs had a great team and Brad Johnson was carried.

1 . Trent Dilfer- 2000 Baltimore Ravens

Trent Dilfer was no doubt the worst Quarterback to ever win a Superbowl. Dilfer had a horrible regular season and during the Superbowl he had only 1 touchdown and The ravens defense did the rest of the work for him carrying him to a Superbowl Ring. The Ravens defense contained Ray Lewis, Tony Ciragoosa, Rod Woodson and The Ravens had Shannon Sharpe on offense and Sharpe is one of the greatest Tight ends of all time. The Ravens dominated the Giants 34-7. Dilfer got cut from the team right after the game ended.
